English to Spanish translations [Non-PRO]
English term or phrase: CIF
the value on the basis CIF Berlin was at 57.990
kylie
Spanish translation:CIF
Explanation:
This is an international abbreviation used in the export business (Cost, Insurance, Freight) and is not translated.
It means that the exporter pays for the transport, insurance and freight costos of the goods he is exporting, until they arrive to the customer's warehouse.

The opposite is FOB (Free on Board), where the exporter only takes the goods to the vessel (ship or airplane) and the customer (importer) pays for the insurance and the transport costs.

Hope this helps! :-)

Explanation:
I would need more context, but it may be
"Cost Insurance and Freight" -> "Precio de la mercancía, incluyendo el transporte y el seguro"

Hope it helps

CIF, C.I.F., C.F.S.

Explanation:
INCO terms - which are agreed upon within the International Chamber of Commerce - regulate/standardize certain aspects of the relations between importers and exporters.
One of the possibilities is C.I.F. or CIF.
C.I.F. stands for Cost, Insurance and Freight. It is the price which includes cost of goods, insurance and freight (= transport) to the port of destination.

In Spanish you can either use CIF or C.F.S. (Coste, Flete y Seguro).

Previously I worked for an international bank.

Costo, Seguro y Flete

Explanation:
CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) es una sigla internacional que se refiere al costo de mercaderías de exportación.
Generalmente, no se traduce pues es una sigla conocida como también lo es la sigla FOB (Free on Board) que es otra variante en el costo de las mercaderías.
Saludos!
