See explanation Explanation: I don't think there is a word in Spanish for tea candles, at least I have never heard it (and I'm Spanish and have my home full of candles). You can use "velita", "vela pequeña", "pequeña vela" or "vela votiva", but the last one has strong religious connotations. I would just say "vela" if the size and shape of the candle is not relevant or "vela pequeña" or "pequeña vela" if there is an image. |

Palmatoria/candelero Explanation: En Español está la palabra "palmatoria" para designar una vela sostenida en un soporte. Este soporte puede ser de metal, barro u otro material cualquiera. En propiedad, la "palmatoria" suele tener un mango por donde agarrarla. También existe "candelero" y "candelabro". Tanto "palmatoria" como "candelero" son adecuadas a lo que se pretende, pues "candelabro" tiene un matiz más lujoso: "candelabro de plata", "candelabro de tres brazos", etc. Recomiendo "palmatoria" en vez de "candelero" porque la frase "estar en candelero" es muy común y tiene otro significado.
