Efectivamente, LAX es una sigla aceptada en dcocumentos relacionados a las comunicaciones por vía aérea. Para determinar se debe usar esta sigla, le aconsejo pensar en la situación del texto y su contexto. Por ej., conviene considerar el medio (papel, internet, cartel) donde se publica y por consecuente el efecto en el lector. Además, el hecho de que la palabra LAX en la frase informativa no es de importancia fundamental. Si se trata de una frase publicitaria aislada, es mejor no pedirle al lector que descodifique siglas que no sabemos si pertenecen a su vocabulario. Con ello también, se dará cuenta de que el organismo que inició el texto y que aprobó la publicidad lo hizo pensando en un lector diferente al de habla inglesa en EEUU. Es decir, en mi forma de ver es mejor no dar énfasis a cosas que tienen menos importancia en el efecto que desea causar el mensaje en su lector. Además, ¿en cuanto tiempo hay que leer esa frase?
