Alguién sabe el término correcto para esta palabra en inglés?
Tiene varios significados en inglés, pero en este caso se trata de un tipo de cuadro, o marco profundo donde se coloca objetos pequeños a fin de darles importancia. Es un tipo de "diorama". Puede también colocar fotografías. Muchas veces, contendrán fotografías junto con objetos relativos. Por ejemplo, una foto de un soldado en una parte, luego las medallas que ganó cuando estuvo en el ejército.

Encontré "caja oscura" pero eso no es. Caja oscura es una especie de cámera primitiva.

creo que te refieres al passepartout

El paspartú rodea un sujeto y realiza una importante función práctica y estética. Se puede usar para destacar el color, acentuar la forma o incrementar el tamaño. Así mismo, el paspartú permite que circule el aire entre el sujeto y el cristal. Pinturas, fotografías o bordados, no tendrían que enmarcarse directamente contra el cristal porque la humedad que se condensa en el interior del marco, podría provocar moho y ondas.

vi un dibujo en el sitio que te adjunto, pero no conozco la palabra en español. Vivo en un lugar turístico que se venden mucho pero se los llama miniaturas, cajitas estante, colgantes, etc.
