el maíz que se llevaban los clientes a casa


Explanation:
no siempre era tan bueno como las muestras que se veían expuestas en el mercado.


i think this is about people who are buying corn, after seeing it in the marketplace.. it is put into a bag, (sent home to customer), but it is not the same quality.. but i do not think it is being "enviado"... which implies the customer is not there taking it with him.
