English to Spanish translations [Non-PRO]
English term or phrase: breaching
Se refiere a las ballenas.

Leaping out of the water is called breaching.
pratima
Spanish translation:brechando (?)
Explanation:
breach = brecha, so
breaching = brechando... the problem is it sounds like a brand new word to me...

The alternative based on info below would be: "rompiendo la superficie verticalmente y saltando fuera del agua"
This may be more accurate but it is awfully long...
Good luck!

Breach refers to the fact that the whale is breaching, or breaking through, the surface and into the air, out of its natural element.
...only those instances where the whale exits the water vertically as if it were "leaping" from the water are typically called breaches.
