Hi!
In the earlier days, television broadcasting was done directly or individually by different stations. I believe that in Spanish, this would be: "televisión de transmisión directa".

Then along came "Network Television" which was in effect "chain" broadacasting". In Spanish, I would suggest this as "televisión en Cadena".
