GLOSSARY ENTRY (DERIVED FROM QUESTION BELOW)
English term or phrase:
Pumpers, Puffers & Putt-Putts
Autobombas, locomotoras mineras, carros sobre rieles
Explanation: I don’t know about preserving your alliteration, but here’s the meaning:
Pumper – firetruck - coche de bomberos, autobomba
Puffer – probably refers to a steam-powered vehicle (puffs of steam) (train, tractor, etc.) – vehículo de vapor. Many antique car shows feature old steam tractors too (in fact, one was in the news not too long ago in Ohio because it blew up and killed several people at a county fair)
Putt-putts – probably just refers to old cars, model-T type, because of the sound they make
Unless someone can think of something brilliant for this one, you might have to just group them together under “exposición de vehículos antiguos” to avoid having a title that’s six miles long.
Hope it helps.
