ómnibus, micro, colectivo/combi (Peru) Explanation: Yes, it's true. For the "regular" buses we use "ómnibus" in Peru, we also use "micro". However, we also have a different kind of smaller transportation vehicles called "colectivo" or "combi". At the beginning, the "combis" were only the VW vehicles model "combi". Now, we have a whole range of transportation vans of all companies (Hyundai, Toyota, etc.) but they are all called the same: "combi". These carry about 12 to 15 people. We also have a medium-sized kind of bus (20 to 30 people) called also "colectivo" or "custer" due again to the model of the first ones we had. Combis are short-distance buses that cover city areas. Custers are also used for travelling among cities, depending on the route conditions. Hope it helps! Good luck! |
