While I agree that we want to avoid using English words wherever possible, I think that in this particular context the English word is the most appropriate. I'm translating text panels for a museum exhibit on rock'n'roll history, and I think that particularly when translating on subjects of popular culture for an audience from such wide and varied cultural and educational audiences as we are hoping to attract, leaving the word in English is more accessible and more likely to be understood. I'm sure many of you might disagree with me! But thankyou all for the input.

Se usa al hablar de la mezcla de estilos. Al ser un término acuñado y utilizado,creo, en los años 70 y que ha quedado como nombre propio de un estilo
determinado, mezcla de jazz y rock principalmente, se utiliza en la actualidad "crossover" para definir cualquier mezcla de estilos. Creo que no existe una correspondencia en español más acertada. En cualquier caso
encaja en el contexto.
