English to Spanish translations [Non-PRO]
English term or phrase:Is Thomas there please?
WHen calling someone on the phone and asking for someone else
Explanation: In the English version you are asking if Thomas is at home and most of the proposed answers are giving a kind of "polite order": Can you put me with Thomas?
I don't think in Spanish you use "please" when asking for somebody unless it's not a question but a request to put you through with the other person.
