English term or phrase: up time
After as little as six months, you will see the big payoff of PMC2000 when you have accumulated comprehensive records of work orders, purchase orders, maintenance activities, and costs through the everyday use of the system. You can use the powerful Reports and Graphs function to create useful information out of this raw data. By using these functions, you begin to have a real understanding of where your maintenance dollars are going, and you can begin to clearly formulate plans on how to increase your UP TIME.

6 hrs
tiempo de actividad

I agree with the above explanation, only I usually choose "tiempo de actividad" because it makes it easier to use "tiempo de inactividad" in case "down time" comes up.
Hope this helps.

Up time= Tiempo de Efectividad/Periodo de Efectividad

This is about payoff in terms of productivity. It doesn't matter how long a system remains in activity but how effective that time is.
