English to Spanish translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Philosophy / filosofía de la religión
English term or phrase:human flourishing
Aunque ya he insertado esta pregunta anteriormente, he encontrado la expresión en otros dos contextos dentro del mismo texto, que paso a añadir por si pudiera ayudar en algo:
1. "But he vehemently opposes the customary ‘subtraction
story’, whereby illusory supernaturalism is stripped away under the fierce sun of science, leaving only what was always there anyway: rational human nature, whose flourishing provides the sole source of good.
2. "Steve Bruce’s hypothesis—that, in modern conditions,
religion will only persist over the long run where it ‘finds work to do other than relating individuals to the supernatural’—is judged to be ‘deeply implausible’ because Taylor ‘can’t see the “demand for religion” just disappearing like that’. Similarly, Martha Nussbaum’s influential statement of the ‘capacities’ approach to human flourishing is (narrowly) characterized as making a distinction between internal and external transcendence and then favouring the former".
3. "Nor does the brisk certainty of the claim that ‘we know
that God wills human flourishing’ get much backing from the historical record of human woes."
