Explanation:
Hola hj,

Una de muchas maneras posibles de decirlo. Quiere decir que la rama formaba un arco al estar sujeta en dos partes diferentes. Al cruzar el camino, supongo que la rama (como hacen muchas plantas/árboles) había echado sus propias raíces. Lo de 'extremos' es una licencia, pues probablemente no se trataran exactamente de los extremos en sí.
