creo que cualquiera de las expresiones preservan la intención, sonando bastante naturales al mismo tiempo

existe otra posibilidad, que sería decir "sin ser tan escrupuloso al respecto", aunque quizá no tenga la naturalidad de las anteriores.

Me atrevería a decir que se trata de una tontería para algunos, pero muchas personas podrían atestiguar al respecto y comprobar su veracidad...Mucha gente confiesa que hubo una época durante la cual no se consideraban a sí mismos grandes violadores.
Para tales personas, una vez que el pecado pierde importancia, dejan de preocuparse demasiado por ser pecadores.
