see note Explanation: I’m not sure if there is an exact word or expression to translate slot coating, but here’s what it means. A simple example involving slot coating will illustrate the utility of flow modeling. In slot coating, a fluid is forced out of a long rectangular slot onto a moving substrate. The width of the coated surface is typically orders of magnitude larger than the thickness of the slot. When beginning a coating, it is sometimes difficult to insure that fluid will wet the substrate along the entire length of the slot. If a near uniform contact is not made, a large initial portion of the coated material may have to be discarded. (http://www.flow3d.com/newsletters/97/fal97cfs.htm) This looks like a similar text in Spanish. Just a thought, anyway. Hope it helps. as noted |
