aerobic exercise: systematic exercise designed to increase oxygen consumption and improve the functioning of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.

¿Que es el ejercicio aeróbico?
Se llama ejercicio aeróbico a aquel para cuya realización se exige una demanda de oxígeno continua al cuerpo, de modo que el músculo utiliza como combustible principalmente nuestras reservas de grasa. Los ejercicios aeróbicos son aquellos en los que participan grandes masas musculares (piernas, glúteos, parte baja de la espalda…), con un largo período de trabajo y a una intensidad moderada. Algunos ejemplos son el aerobic, andar a paso ligero, trotar, el esquí de fondo, nadar, el ciclismo de fondo, bailar y el entrenamiento con pesas monitorizado.
