I find this an ackward word in this phrase. I guess "tentadoras" would be the best option in this case, but you must see in your text if this is a good option according to the context.

esperanzadas expectativas


Explanation:
I agree with the colleague: tantalizing IS "tentadora" but it sounds too akward in this context (it's my opinion). Generally in Medicine we use "esperanzadas" or "esperanzadoras"
expectativas.
