Explanation:
En mi opinión se refiere a partes del casco que, por su mayor grosor, requieren más tiempo para que se produzca la curación.

He encontrado un texto interesante:
\"The waterline is then taped. This is the time to let us know if you want to raise your waterline. Then the paint system that you select is applied by roller. Bottom paints can be applied by spraying for those who want the extra knot that a smoother finish will provide, but this must be done in our spray tent and requires additional charges for handling, masking and spraying. After the two coats are applied, the chine stands are shifted and the pad areas are sanded and painted. The keel block areas are sanded and painted when the boat is readied for launching. Every effort is made to keep a boat on the blocks overnight to dry if the last coat is applied after noon.\"

Se puede deducir que las \"pad areas\" son las que no se pueden pintar por ser aquellas zonas donde se apoya el casco del barco durante la mayor parte del tiempo. Según el texto, cuando se termina de aplicar la pintura al caso, se mueven los apoyos y se termina de pintar en las \"pad areas\". Podríamos decir que son las \"áreas de apoyo en una primera fase\".

No estaba satisfecho con mi primera respuesta y esta segunda es la correcta.

Según el texto, cuando se termina de aplicar la pintura al caso, se mueven los apoyos y se termina de pintar en las \"pad areas\". Podríamos decir que son las \"áreas de apoyo en una primera fase\".
