Explanation: Sofisticado is a widely used word meaning "altamente desarrollado" (highly developed) o "complejo" (complex). If the first is so widely used is because of its glamorous connotation and sound (remember all those pathetic car-adds always featuring a sophisticated woman, put them together and man you're gonna get the ride of your life, here in Spain we're no better perhaps worse!). :)
