English term or phrase: Vault
I would like to know a good translation for the term "vault" when talking of back up systems. I have the idea of what it is but I have not found a good Spanish word or phrase for it, can you help me? Thanks
mrr
Spanish translation:bóveda, zona de almacenaje en memoria
Explanation:
If you are talking of a physical location where backup files can be stored, once they are converted to a discrete medium, then "bóveda" is your choice. If it is supposed to mean a section of the storage devices in a computer or server, then "zona de almacenaje...." would be my choice. ¡Suerte!

Explanation:
"Vault" se traduce como "bóveda" inclusive en su significado argentino, de "mausoleo" o "panteón" donde se entierra a los muertos. Numerosos ejemplos hay en las bóvedas de familias de origen inglés en los cementerios de Buenos Aires. Como verbo y en sentido figurado, "vault" significa saltar un obstáculo con un salto en forma de bóveda. En este sentido se podría traducir como "esquivar" o evitar". Los demás sentidos ya han sido explicados y por ello no los menciono.

almacén seguro

Explanation:
In reference to (disk) vault storage for backup on computers. Bóveda would be physical storage of backup data.
