In 1962, XXX launched a first for the packaging industry, a plastics RING CARRIER which formed a six-pack of cans. It was launched in direct competition to the traditional paperboard carriers, and following its patenting, xxx replaced its paperboard carrier for cans with this alternative and declared that it was saving them $1m a year.
