Checking the Indexer Level
1. Turn the disengage levers on both sides of the Indexer Pressure Roller to their loose positions (Figure 10).
This is done to insure that both sides of the Indexer Pressure Roller are pressing against the Indexer Drive Roller.
2. Check the Indexer crossline leveling by placing a level on the Indexer Pressure Roller (Figure 11).
3. Check the Indexer inline leveling by placing a level on the Indexer's front or rear wall (Figure 11).

If either the crossline or inline level check show unleveled, do the following procedures.
If both the crossline and inline are level, proceed to the Leveling and Adjusting the Rewinder procedure (page 18).

2. Using a 4 mm key or screwdriver, raise or lower the loosened Indexer support brackets by rotating the set screws clockwise or counterclockwise, until both directions (crossline and inline) are leveled.
3. Tighten the screw on each of the two Indexer support brackets.
4. Verify crossline and inline leveling (Figure 11). If either is not level, repeat this procedure

Explanation:
No estoy segura de si es "vertical/horizontal", pero como veo que nadie responde, ahí va un poco de feedback, por si te puede ayudar.
"crossline" creo que es "línea(s) cruzada(s)" e "inline" sería "en línea" o "en serie" (sería la idea de proceso en cadena).
¿No puede ser que los niveles de los que se habla en el texto, unos sean como cintas cruzadas o que se interseccionan y otro nivel simplemente en línea?
La verdad es que no lo sé, pero espero no haberla liado más y que esto te ayude! :) Salu2
