computer jargon in Spanish ... Explanation: motherboard=placa madre, or the main board of a PC, home of the processor, memory, chips, etc. virtual address espace= espacio de dirección virtual. This is a virtual memory used by linking the addresses of free RAM slots. It is called virtual because the actual location of the data is distributed in several memory address allocations. swap memory contents= contenidos de memoria de intercambio. The swap memory is a virtual memory that swaps (exchanges) data between the RAM and the HD, back and forth. shell= has two meanings depending on context: 1) The outermost layer of a program. Shell is another term for user interface. Operating systems and applications sometimes provide an alternative shell to make interaction with the program easier. No translation leave in English, cause is PC jargon 2) Sometimes called command shell, a shell is the command processor interface. The command processor is the program that executes operating system commands. This is "interfaz de usuario" Reference: http://webopedia.internet.com/TERM/s/shell.html |

See explanation below Explanation: Motherboard - Though literally it is "Placa madre", I would not use this translation, and I would say "Placa base". This is much more common in Spanish. You can see this term in all kinds of manuals, ... Map addresses - Depending on context, "Map" can also mean "Asignar". So, maybe this should be translated as "Asignar direcciones". Swap memory contents - This is rather ambiguous. It can be "Intercambiar el contenido de la memoria" or "Contenido de la memoria de intercambio". You should decide which one is the correct one depending on context. Hope this helps. Luck! Pere My own experience as a translator |

tarjeta principal/espacio de dirección virtual/mapa de direcciones/contenido de memoria de intercamb Explanation: all of them are technical translations and may vary according to the Spanish speaking country. The last one "shell" could be "cápsula" |
