English term or phrase: "Forward Drive Staple Gun"
This is the name of a new tool. This is how the company that manufactures it describes it:
"a new tool that has a short-fire stroke and requires less force than conventional staplers, the three in one gun fires staples and brads...etc" I would also like some help with "short-fire stroke"
How would you translate this, giving it a name that the company can use for its Hispanic customers.
Thanks a bunch!!

PISTOLA GRAPADORA DE EMPUJE HACIA ADELANTE
Explanation:
"una nueva herramienta con una carrera de disparo rapido y que requiere ménos esfuerzo que las grapadoras traditionales; la pistola tres-en-una grapa y ..."

The only ref to short-fire stroke was your new product (?) advertised in Yahoo:http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:biz.yahoo.com/prnews/00...

IT SEEMS PREFERABLE TO SAY 'DISPARO RAPIDO' THAN 'DISPARO CORTO' and when I checked, I found nothing for the latter, but plenty for the former. Here's one example:

Pistola Grapadora de impulso/EMPUJE/mecanismo hacia adelante/de avance

ON THE BASIS OF THIS PAGE I SELECT 'EMPUJE' (BUT THE OTHERS ARE LEFT FOR YOU TO CONSIDER)

Thanks for your complete and prompt reply. Actually, many of the other answers were equally fine, I sort of mixed and matched some of the answers, so thanks to everyone!

Pistola engrapadora de impulso delantero

Explanation:

Explanation:
Both engrapar and grapar appear in the Diccionario del Español Actual (Manuel Seco) with the same meaning. In Argentina we would use "grapar - grapadora".
For "short-fire stroke": disparo rápido.
"Stroke" is carrera, desplazamiento, golpe, but in your text it seems that just "disparo rápido" is OK.
Best regards,

Patricia

pistola engrapadora de proyección...

Explanation:
I asked my brother (Spanish speaker) who uses a lot of mechanical tools and he told me that:PISTOLA ENGRAPADORA DE PROYECCIÓN* FRONTAL could be an excellent name to describe a Forward Drive Staple Gun, if the staples come out from the front part of the gun or, to use PISTOLA ENGRAPADORA DE PROYECCIÓN DELANTERA if the gun pushes the staples forward at the time of insertion.
For "short-fire stroke" he suggests:
DISPARO INSTANTÁNEO.

* as in proyectil or proyectar

Espero le sea de utilidad.
