Does anybody know the translation for "Stem ginger"? It appears in the following sentence: "Thin crisp rounds of Pure Butter Shortbread with pieces of real Stem Ginger". Thanks.

Maria, despues de realizar algunas búsquedas, me encontré que hay dos clases de jengibre: el jengibre joven o primaveral, el cual tiene la piel delgada y no requiere que se le molde (que se le "pele"). La otra clase, mas común, le llaman el jengibre maduro, el cual tiene la piel dura y debe mondarse ("pelarse"). Por consiguiente , opino que el Stem Ginger se refiere al jengibre joven o primaveral.

Hola! Yo francamente creo que lo de "stem" ginger lo ponen para explicar que se trata del jenjibre entero, no en polvo. De qué otra manera podrías incluir pedazos en el pan? El precedente existe por el lado de la "canela en rama" por oposición a la "canela en polvo". Ahora, como dice "pedazos de...", tal vez el poner "jenjibre" a secas sea sufciente.
