Sólo "DESGASTE" (Glosario CEPAL ) para los que componen su equivalente en inglés, porque es inglés ambas palabras designan a un único concepto: "The loss, injury, or stress to which something is subjected by or in the course of use; especially : normal depreciation" (Webter's)

Si el contexto es más especializado, lo puedes traducir como "DEPRECIACIÓN POR USO." (Eurodicautom)

Si buscas en el diccionario te darás cuenta que desgaste y deterioro tienen el mismo significado: to wear away.

desgarrar-to rend, to tear, to claw. Por eso me decidí por esta.
Ahora, esperate un rato y quizá alguien te pueda sugerir algo mejor.

segun el diccionario de Economía y empresa de Jose Lozano Irueste....

aunque tambien puedes utilizar tu segunda opción: "uso y desgaste" segun el Diccionario Enciclopedico Tecnico de Javier Collazo... otra de sus sugerencias son: "desgaste por el uso" y "desgaste normal"

No creo que en este instante la palabra tear se refierra a desgarre en absoluto. Por ejemplo cuando las compañias de seguro le pagan a uno por el valor de un vehículo, siempre hacen una deducción por el "wear and tear" es decir por el desgaste por uso o el uso y desgaste que ha tenido el vehiculo desde que se compró.

Así que usa tu sugerencia de "uso y desgaste" con toda confianza.

Explanation:
"Wear and tear" es una expresión muy natural, muy usada coloquialmente, corta y nada pomposa. Yo la traduciría de forma corta e informal.
Las posibilidades son muchas, solamente te doy ideas: Como coloquialmente lo traduciría como:"Uso y rompo", Uso y tiro", "Uso y adiós"... etc.
TAL VEZ PODRíA SERVIR:
"Usar y tirar", "Usar y romper" "Uso y desgaste"...etc.
Nuevamente, una linda, corta y expresiva frase en inglés que no resulta nada cómoda cuando se intenta traducirla al español. :((((
