editor colaborador
Explanation:
British journals often have an editorial board (4/5 members) who act as assistants to the editor in Chief. They don't re-write papers - and rarely get a penny! - Instead, they decide the policy of the journal, help to select papers for publication and help with last minute consultations from the publishing staff. The editor in Chief is often a (semi-) retired personor a senior person with long experience in the field. ...who often does most of the editing. There is also a long list of 'honorary' editors that form the international board. Rare to have any contribution from them and play a honorary role of overseen the quality of the journal. Although they are editors, they are not contributory editors

editor colaborador / controbuyente

Explanation:
Mirá estos ejemplos:
"Contributing editor David Pitts talks with Thomas Devine, legal director for the Government Accountability Project (GAP), a nonprofit, nonpartisan public interest group that defends the rights of employees who "blow the whistle" on illegal or potentially harmful activities of government agencies."
http://www.usinfo.state.gov/journals/itdhr/0800/ijde/ijde080...
http://www.usinfo.state.gov/journals/itdhr/0800/ijds/ijds080...

5 hrs
colaborador

Explanation:
At least in Spain, "editor" is not the editor but the publisher; the English editor is in Spanish redactor, editor-in chief being "director". Simply redactor (or redactor jefe) would mean being on the publication`s payroll, as is always the editorialista. Somebody who makes contributions, however highly considered, is a "colaborador de la revista xx"
