I had to do a technical translation not long ago. I remember this term clearly.

At that time, I had to think which was the best spanish term. Now I have no doubt.

Here is what I found in ENCARTA WORLD ENGLISH DICTIONARY:
header [héddr ] (plural headers) noun

1. SOCCER shot or pass with head: a deliberate use of the head to play, pass, or shoot the ball in football He scored with a flying header.

2. headlong fall: a headlong plunge or fall

3. PRINTING heading for page: a heading for each page of a word-processed or faxed document, usually automatically inserted and consisting of text or a page number

4. COMPUTING place for information about message: a place at the top of a piece of electronic mail where the sender can state what a message is about and where it is being sent from and to

5. CONSTRUCTION crosswise brick in wall: a brick or stone positioned crosswise in a wall and level with its outer surface. See also stretcher n.6

6. INDUSTRY maker, fitter, or remover of tops: a person who, or a machine that, makes, fits, or removes the tops of something
