No se trata de un freno, sino de una pequeña superficie de control de flujo que sirve para hacer correcciones menores en envolventes lentas de flujo aerodinámico (aterrizaje, por ej.). Sin embargo, por aquí siempre usamos el anglicismo "spoiler". ¡Suerte!

  -> más arriba estás de acuerdo con "aerofrenos o alerones" ¿? Además, el texto es claro y dice que los "spoilers" se usan para controlar los movimientos laterales del avión y para mejorar la eficiencia de los frenos en el aterrizaje...
