English term or phrase: Coil (as in air-conditioner) and short-cycling
The phrase is "Check and make sure the thermostat bulb is not in contact with the COIL - this can cause short cycling of the compressor." - (I can't quite get short-cycling either)

Thanks!

serpentín / ciclo corto
Explanation:

Thanks so much! This was a great explantion (a 10!)- It provided not only a translation but also an understanding of how the equipment works - in the target language - which will be very helpful in future translations... Thanks again!

SERPENTÍN

Explanation:
They are talking about a coil inside which a refrigerating fluid flows in a closed circuit for heat exchange purposes (cooling). Do not mistake it for an electrical coil which is something entirely different. Hope this helps. Good luck. Frank
