Creo que lo que nos está machacando el significado de "rolling" en el sentido de cíclico, continuo, "periódico" es la palabra "period of time" (periodo de tiempo) en donde period se refiere a "cantidad" "LAPSO".

Si escogemos para period la palabra "lapso" y paea "rolling" la de peiódico tendremos un "lapso de tiempo periódico" o, creo que mejor, "lapsos periódicos de tiempo", que creo que es una locución fluia para indicar el sentido de la expresión original inglesa.

Si "lapso" te suena demasiado "cursi" o "pedante", puedes usar "intervalo". Queda matemático-científico y estorba poco.
