English term or phrase: store
This is from computer terminology and means rather storage - a memory area where certain data is stored. Translators used words "almacen" (I can't type the accent) and "tienda" for it, but I'm not sure this is correct. Would you please exaplin which one is correct, if any, or what word should be used instead?

Thank you!

(unidad) de almacenamiento

Explanation:
You may use any preceding means of storage (a unit, etc.) followed by "de almacenamiento". Do not use almacén or tienda as they refer to a completely different context, in fact, "tienda" means store, but like in a "groceries store"

Archivo, Area de almacenamiento, capacidad de almacenaje

Explanation:
I don't think almacén/tienda is a correct term for that. Those are used for physical buildings.

to store = guardar

Explanation:
Hi again,

You can again look at the terminology lists provided by Microsoft. To store is many times the same as to save (similar situation to delete and remove which is translated with eliminar). The other possible translation is almacenar (usually in a vault for safe keeping, for example).

Best of luck,

Guardar en Memoria

Explanation:
'Almacenar' might be a good literal translation but it doesn't sound right for computer memory. It sounds OK for merchandise or goods kept for storage or distribution.

guardar

Explanation:
"guardar" is the word commonly used and understood by spanish speaking computer users/experts for either "store" or "save". Although "salvar" is also used for "save".

Almacenar

Explanation:
"Almacenar" would be used in a phrase such as "I will store this treasure in a safety vault" "to store". Voy a almacenar este tesoro en una caja de seguridad"
store is also "tienda" I will go to the store and buy milk. Good luck.
