Om det inte är enbart läkare och optiker, så är väl din formulering \"yrkesverksamma inom ögonvård\" helt rimlig, alternativt en uppräkning av de grupper det rör sig om

personligen skulle jag ng skriva om meningen litet, t.ex. så här:

"Vi genomför en undersökning bland fackmän som verkar/arbetar inom ögonvårdssektorn"

Ögonspecialister/ögonvårdspecialister låter så "avhugget" på ngt sätt.
