With reference to a shooting incident, we heard on the news that a girl was killed by a گلولۀ فردی‌نشناس.

I am most tempted to put it down as “stray bullet”, but think I should confirm this as it's not in my dictionary.

Is the فردی‌ here made of فرد plus ی‌ ("a")?
