Farsi (Persian) term or phrase: رنگ واره
Hi,

An album by the group Raashtak is called «رنگ واره های کُهَن».

Please, what does «رنگ واره » mean here?

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

PS No doubt there are some parallels with developments in meaning of the Hindi term 'rāga', cognate with 'رنگ'.

colour shadow
Explanation:
the word in farsi is made of two parts: rang means colours, but makes the word a bit hard for translation is rendering the word "vareh" which by itself is a affix means "like". on the whole the word "rangvareh" means a shadow of colour, a hint of colour, here in its combination with kohan meaning i.e "old" can result in a translation like old colour shadows. As a poetic expression however this is a matter of artistic taste and you can choose another combination.
