Farsi (Persian) term or phrase: فرهیخته
Greetings,

It's a rather long sentence, but let me give it all just in case it sheds extra light.

قاب عکس حکاکی شده چهره زوجی فرهیخته را در بر داشت، زوجی که در یکی از رستورانها مجلل لندن نشسته بودند و لبخندشان را نثار بیننده می کردند

The engraved photograph frame contained the faces of a ? couple, a couple who were were sitting in one of London’s luxury restaurants and scattering their smile to all the spectators.

I don't suppose فرهیخته could be related to the word for dictionary فرهنگ by any chance? Does the word فرهیخته come from a verb?

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

We have the verb "فرهیختن" which means "ادب آموختن و تأدیب و تربیت کردن " and/or "علم آموختن و تعلیم کردن ": educate
"فرهیخته" is participial adjective meaning "educated" and/or "cultured".

We have both "فرهیخته" and the less commonly used "فرهخته". They both mean "educated" and "polite".
