You're right in your interpretation if بهم is read as (بهِ م (من; but please note that this is a very colloquial form which can only appear in dialogues or monologues if found written. If you notice the co-texts in Google strings, these are rather formal writings. So we would consider them as به هم, not به ِم or به من.
