I'd appreciate help with the whole sentence if anyone has time, I don't know how to phrase it in English.

...allowed (or permissible) in taxation.

I don't know what EVL-poistot is (probably elinkeinovero-something). It means the expenses that are tax-deductible, if you're e.g. self-employed. This is a terrible sentence in Finnish, and the whole assignment you're working on is a pig (I've done many like it...) My current one, for a change, is wonderful!
