перехват (вызова)

'Poiminta' may mean several things in Finnish, even when concerning only a telephone. I would guess that the most probable meaning is "перехват вызова", which means the following: When you here somebody else's telephone ringing in the office, by using a certain sequence of pushing the buttons of your own telephone you can 'pick-up' or 'intercept' this call and answer it on your own telephone.

'Poiminta' in this meaning is somewhat technical and special term in Finnish, and an average Finn you meet in the street may not know and explain it correctly.

BTW, in colloquial the Finns the expression 'puhelun kaappaus' for this 'poiminta'.
