Flemish term or phrase: ontseining
I have a text that talks about 'de ontseining van een voertuig'. It's not a word I can find in any of my dictionaries.

English translation:opposite of 'signaleren'; de-listing?
Explanation:
seining and ontseining are literal translations of the French signalement and désignalement (the term signalement is used in the Netherlands, but not in Belgium, apparently)

what it means, more or less, is that a vehicle that had been put on a list (spotted; an alert had been put out) and then taken off

That's brilliant, thank you. The word 'seining' has appeared throughout, and I've been using 'reported', but now I can see from your reply that it is more accurately that an alert has been put out.
