French term

redevance amortissements communs

French to English Other Accounting insurance company accounts
Hopefully this is my last question for the time being.

This comes under a table of Autres Produits, Autres Charges. It's under the heading Ventilation des Autres Produits , allocation of other income to the various companies within the group.
Since it comes under other income, I don't see how redevance can mean charge here.

Accounts aren't my thing - my agency asked me to do this because so many of their translators are away on their Easter holiday. so I've just done 100 odd pages of this and my brain is worn out. Any help would be much appreciated it.
Proposed translations (English)
5 depreciation of insurance premiums

it therefore makes sense they are writing it off against income..the customer pays them and they pay the TV fee..they deduct is from income...I think
Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) Mar 26, 2005:
first. it's amortization, my error and second redevance is fees..if this is home insurance, they may be referring to the fees for television service..paid along with insurance I believe..the redevance televisuelle..check that out...:not premium but fee

... Depreciation – loss in value. ... All premiums are pooled by the insurance company, which then uses that money to pay out claims. More Information. ...

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I'm still not 100% sure about this one, at least as far as redevance goes; I think it may be more along the lines of repayment as it comes under the heading of income (and some notes on the very last page refer to recuperation des amortissements communs under income. I think pooled is definitely a good way of translating commun. Thanks again for all your help, Jane."
