French term or phrase: p par action; Mds

This has to do with value of stock, in the context of a take-over bid. The edited phrase is: "... un offre d'achat à 5.7 Mds d'Euros sur [name of company] (soit 420 p par action). What is that *p*? And... can someone confirm that *Mds* does mean *milliards*--I can't find that abbreviation in any of my reference.

Explanation:
It could well be points (remember that sometimes the stockexchange does not give figures in money but in points (each point has a value). It could mean 420 points (or cents) per share. It could help knowing the number of shares involved. Mds = I also think of milliards (but in France remember it means thousands of millions)

No one has mentioned the possibility that the company in question may be a UK company, in which case "p" might well be "pence". Share prices are often quoted in 3-digit penace amounts as e.g. 420 pence rather than £4.20.
