SAS
Explanation:
Here's what the GDT has to offer - no translation offered though. Bearing in mind the definition given, it is a type of limited company, a very small-scale one at that and with extremely limited formatlities.

GRAND DICTIONNAIRE TERMINOLOGIQUE :

société par actions simplifiée n. f.

Abrév.
SAS

Contexte :

EURODICAUTOM
As to the EuroDicAutom, here are two of the results suggested, not exactly right, but which come close to a possible offering as to a trnaslation of your term - if you decide to translate it at all. It had this to say :

Document 3
French Abbreviation : SCA [1]
Signification : société en commandite par actions [1]
English Term : limited partnership with a share capital

Document 4
French Term : société en commandite par actions
English Term : limited equity partnership

Strangely enough, when I asked the EuroDicAutom to come up with something for SAS, this was included as a possible suggestion :

Document 3
French Abbreviation : SAS
Signification : société anonyme simplifiée
English Term : simplified joint stock company

Is the SAS in your text a hybrid between a partnership and a private limited company? I had never heard of this until your question came up. How about leaving it as it is. On the subject of animals, this is probably a rare bird indeed.

Leave it as SAS, give the full term in an apporpriate way - footnote, parentheses - and offer a short possbile translation along the lines of "very small two-person limited company with limited formalities", giving the indications as to capital if required in the context of your text.

Hope this helps,

Nikki

simplified private limited company

Explanation:
I had meant to add this as a possible suggestion if you feel the need to translate it.

Sorry about having pressed the last one twice. My five year old came in asking me to stick some beads in her hair - not entirely conducive to great concentration!

Explanation:
I was unable to find a definition and a translation of "Société par Actions simplifiée", too.
Therefore, what I am proposing is a literal translation.
Hope it helps!
