"passing the O marker" or "passing the O mark" Explanation: I am not sure what the whole sentence means, but this part of it might be translated with "validates the fact that the O marker has been passed by the driver (?) " (I somehow think that "entité de pilotage" means some software program. Am I right?) From the "Grand Dictionnaire Terminologique", you find "marker" (among other terms) as a translation for "jalon". This is the word you use for instance to mark the way or a sport course (ski, cycling, golf starting tee, etc.). You will say "jalonner le parcours" or "jalonner la piste" to mean "mark the course". When you say "passer un jalon", this means you are going by or passing a certain mark on your course. I think that this is the appropriate translation in this instance. Soes that make sense? |

This would mean the starting mark of the course. It could also make sense in your sentence, depending on the rest of the text. |
