In a software development agreement, the term "Exigence Majeure" is defined as follows: "exigence technique qui impacte ... la *projection* du composant sur la plate-forme matérielle". I'm afraid the agreement doesn't go into more detail, other than to say that a major requirement could also impact the component's architecture and performance ....

This could be explained as the effect being 'projected' or 'travelling' from the component to the platform.
