combine a video with a computer screen shot Explanation: From your suggestion, I think you may be parsing this slightly wrongly — I don't believe it is 'un enregistrement vidéo' as you seem to be reading it, but rather 'mixer un enregistrement de... et de...) It's a subtle point, but in many cases, FR specifies both what you do (here, 'mixer') and the fact it is recorded ('un enregistrement') — we tend to take it for granted as implicit in EN, though we might find 'mix a recording of their latest album...' I would avoid 'mix' here, simply because in EN that has a tendency to connote forst and foremost AUDIO mixing, and the average lay person doesn't even stop to think that there is also VIDEO mixing — which is in any case not exactly what it going on here; this seems to be more editing (unless, perhaps, it involves say picture-in-picture or split screen techniques) — so overall, I think 'combine' conveys the idea better. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2020-01-08 10:16:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I see your point about 'celui' — but I don't think it changes the underlying issue. The only point to watch out for is that my suggested 'screenshot' could be understood as being merely a still image screen capture, where as here I'm pretty sure it is referring to 'live action' on the screen (whence the awkward formulation) — but I'm pretty sure the informed reader would soon get the right idea. Otherwise, you might need to say something like 'combining video and screenshot recordings' -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2020-01-08 10:37:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Well, I can't give a better answer, since you haven't given us that part of your context :-( -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2020-01-08 10:55:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Ah, I see! Well, it's not hard to include that parenthesis within my suggested formulation above: 'combining video (from an external or webcam) and screenshot recordings' The S/T is a bit iffy anyway, since they presumably mean an externally-connected or built-in camera since either might be a WEBcam or not... unless they are seeking to refer to a DISTANT webcam; it's not very well written, but you can't do better than copy it, unless it is made clearer anywhere else. |
