French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering
French term or phrase:volet type persienne IDF
List of things for project to extend detached house in a Département in the Parisian suburbs.
"Paire de volet bois type persienne IDF 1000x2150mm"
volet type persienne I translate as "louvred shutter". I'm suspecting that IDF could potentially stand for "Ile-de-France". Are the shutters in Ile-de-France characteristic in some way that differentiates them from those in other parts of France?
It may be some kind of a building code in Ile de France; the city wants a harmonized look. I know there are regulations about renovations in my suburb (sorry no time to look this up)...
Or it may refer to a style, like "Hausmannien" buildings in Paris. If there is some big renovation project, you will see that they have totally gutted the inside, but left the facade because it's considered as a historical landmark.
