French term or phrase: remplois
a banking term...appears in financial statements of a bank...it is related to the intermediation function of a bank...I just am not sure the best way to say it..it may merely mean: lending activities....because it is often paired with ..please no answers like re-use...I am close to thinking it is lending...

sample sentence: Au 31 décembre 2004, les remplois auprès des entreprises liées s’élèvent à 2.184 millions d’euro et représentent 64% des créances totales...doesn't that sound like lending to affiliates? or funds re-invested in affiliates..the problem is that funds re-invested in affiliates is not an accounting term..

reinvestments
Explanation:
remploi or réemploi

in your context : it comes from "employer" = to use "re" = again

in finance it is reinvest.

From the Harraps "finance" dictionary and confirmation from a chartered accountant friend of mine.

agree  Christopher RH: Absolutely. A "remploi" in general is where the funds are "marked" to a specific origin (despite cash being fungible...) and so have a specific "reinvestment".
