No context, it's just the French name of a type of chilli pepper that I need to translate on food labelling. However, I cannot find any information about what it may be called in English. The only information I can find is that it is from China and is spicy but not very hot. I may need to write a descriptive translation, but thought I would ask just in case anybody had a better idea... Thank you everyone.
Thanks for your help everyone. I can't see any definitive translation here, only that some peppers have similar names in English. The pepper in question doesn't seem to be as hot as some of the ones with the word "devil" in in English. As for points, I'll try to award them if the community find it important. I find these functions all very confusing, personally.
Names of botanical varieties are notoriously tricky, because they vary from one country to another. I can't find any references to Devil's Rings, but maybe that's a translation from Chinese. I wouldn't leave it in French, because it sounds like it's not from a French-speaking region.
I do think you should award points - it's a basic courtesy.
